Oil lubricates the engine and keeps it running smoothly. But at the same time, oil also cools it down and keeps it at the ideal operating temperature. The ADVANTEC Original BMW Engine Oil is formulated to fulfill the high requirements of BMW Motorrad high-performance engines. So always make sure that the right quantity of oil is in the engine, gearbox and drive. Too much oil can have a negative impact, as the oil pressure in the engine is designed for a specified quantity.

Your hands control the clutch and the brake, your feet brake and shift gears. Your luggage should be packed well. Regularly rinse off the salt deposits after winter rides and intensify the care with the appropriate products. Dose the high pressure cleaner softly and do not point the spray directly at the intake duct and bearing. You can of course get care products from us. From cleaning to polish: the Original BMW Care Products offer excellent care for your bike. 

We recommend standing the motorcycle on the center stand over the winter, so as not to permanently strain the tires and spring elements over longer immobilization periods. In order to avoid flat spots, you should move your BMW to and fro every now and again – the smallest space is sufficient for this.

If your motorcycle is not ridden for prolonged periods, the charge of the battery drops.  BMW offers battery charger devices, which can usually be connected to the battery without it having to be removed. Practical, provided you have access to a plug socket.

Your BMW's synthetic oils are not only highly resilient in operation, but also withstand the test of time during immobilization periods. They continue working exceptionally after winter with a short warm-up of the engine. BMW recommends ADVANTEC Original BMW Engine Oils and the Original BMW Expert Line that perfectly suit the engine of your BMW Motorrad. For metal tanks, we recommend filling up before immobilization, because otherwise the tank may corrode on the inside due to condensed moisture. For plastic tanks, this is not an issue. For carburetor-operated motorcycles, you should disconnect the feed cable between the tank and the carburetor and allow the fuel to drain out of the carburetor in order to prevent hardening. For modern injection engines – as exhibited by the entire BMW Motorrad range – this measure is not required.
