The motorcycle event of the year.
For the 17th time, the motorcycle world will meet at the BMW Motorrad Days 2017 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Motorcycle fans can look forward to three days of BMW Motorrad from 7 until 9 July.
The international scene as a guest.
Racers, adventurers, customizers: at the BMW Motorrad Days, the international motorcycling scene comes together. At the legendary parties and music acts, the whole community celebrates together and exchanges valuable experiences. Singer and RR fan Wincent Weiss will also be there. Under no circumstances does the young biker want to miss the BMW Motorrad Days.
We present exciting world premiers at the BMW Motorrad Days that no one has ever seen before – don’t let the chance slip and be one of the first to experience the innovations at first hand. You can gain an overview of the current model range at the BMW Motorrad exhibition. On the move with the community.
Going head-to-head against the Supermoto world champion.
If you want to put your skill on a G 310 GS to the test, the "Challenge The World Champion" campaign in the event arena gives you a unique opportunity to do so. Every day, up to ten visitors can traverse two rounds of a Parcours against multi Supermoto world champion Bernd Hiemer. Those who traverse the two passes consistently and manage the smallest time difference will win a 45-minute trip with the world champion that very same day. It's all about skill.
To take part in this, you need to register online in advance by Thursday, 6th July. The registration form can be downloaded below. You can also register later on during the event itself however in the BMW Motorrad Days Admin Office. Only ten places are available so lots will be drawn for this on each day of the show. Candidates will be informed they have been selected via text message up to one-and-a-half hours before the show commences. Don't forget to bring along: a valid motorcycle licence, protective clothing and motorcycle boots as well as a rider's pass (10 euros).
Tour, heritage, roadster, sport – or rather an adventure? At the BMW Motorrad days, there will be a wide selection of BMW Motorrad models for you to test ride. The perfect decision-making aid on the road to your new bike. The online quota is already full but you can also book test rides at BMW Motorrad Days. This is also only possible as long as places are available.
If you would like to test your offroad capabilities, you have come to the right place in the temporary Enduro park. Simply register on site for a training course and put yourself and the terrain to the test.
Treasure Hunt Challenge with REVER
Experience the winding alpine roads, get to know other BMW fans and search for hotspots – the joint BMW Motorrad and REVER challenge will enable you to discover some hidden treasures while collecting lots of points along the way. Whoever collects the most points will win a weekend at the Pure&Crafted Festival in Berlin. The prize package includes two festival tickets, drinks and food as well as accommodation.
How does it work? Simply download the REVER app and install it on your smartphone. Collect points by recording your journey with the app and then saving it – under "Challenges" in the app you will see an overview containing a list of all spots. The route must be at least 500 metres. Some spots can only be reached on foot so anybody interested who has not travelled to Garmisch by bike can join in regardless.
During the challenge, you will get to know the village of Boebing with its mountain, the Hoehenpeissenberg. A further spot – a former racing circuit– is located between Lake Kochel and Lake Walchen. If you're a fan of bends, you should also experience the picturesque scenery en route to Seehausen am Staffelsee.
The challenge commences on Friday, 23rd June at 9 am (CEST) with spots in the area around Garmisch (off-site points). When BMW Motorrad Days commences on 7th July, there will be more spots on the event grounds (on-site points). If you have any questions about the app or the campaign, REVER staff will be happy to help you on site. Points may be collected until 9th July at 3 pm.
Motorcycle procession and tours.
It is the ultimate communal experience: the motorcycle procession at the BMW Motorrad Days. Together with motorcyclists from all over the world, you can take part in either the motorcycle procession or the classic procession. You can also join full-day or half-day tours. You need your own bike for this. You can register in the travel training test ride tent. You can register for Panorama tours through the beautiful mountain landscape in the exhibition tent of the Enduro park.
Taster rides with the motorcycle.
Already had a taste of that motorcycle air? If you don't have a motorcycle licence yet, the motorcycle taster rides at the BMW Motorrad Days are just what you've been looking for. You can try riding a BMW bike for the first time with expert instructors on the parking lot of the ice-skating rink.
Freestyle dance on the motorcycle.
In the event arena, visitors will see a new face this year: stunt rider Sarah Lezito ensures excitement with stoppies, wheelies and burnouts. The 24-year-old Frenchwoman is considered to be the best stunt rider in the world and was Scarlett Johansson's double in the motorcycling scenes in The Avengers 2. And there are even more stunts; after the great success last year, Mattie Griffin is back in the event arena. With his freestyle show, the Irish stunt rider once again demonstrates his ability and makes his bike dance.
Drift show on four wheels.
The two-wheelers don't hog all the action at the BMW Motorrad Days: the Ritzmann Motorsport team is presenting its car drift show and burning the asphalt at the event arena. The shows are part of the daily programme.
Steep wall acrobatics in perfection.
An attraction at the BMW Motorrad Days each and every year is the "Original Motodrom" – the oldest travelling wall of death in the world. The daredevil motorcycle acrobats race their motorcycles against all physical reasoning beyond the vertical and will be appearing this year not with two, not with three, but for the first time ever with four BMW R25s at the same time – a genuine world premiere.
A diverse range of accessories and customising options.
There are around a hundred exhibitors at the BMW Motorrad Days on site. At numerous stands, they provide you with exclusive motorcycle accessories. Extras, parts and engines – here, you can find everything that motorcyclists and bikers could possibly desire. The customising scene is also represented. For instance, Urban Motor will be modifying a BMW R 80 ST.
Extreme athletes, globetrotters and motorcycling legends tell stories of their exciting experiences in the BMW Motorrad cinema in the US Lodge. With their film and picture presentations, they will take you with them on a journey and give you inspiration for your own motorcycling adventure. Photographer Michael Martin will be giving his speech "Around the world with the GS – adventures and encounters from 25 years". In his live speech "The great excursion", Rolf Lange talks about his experiences and encounters with people all over the world: he left the daily routine behind and embarked on a 17-month world trip on an R 1200 GS. Christoph Köhler from MotorCircus talks about a journey for charity. The Mission South project brought four friends to Gambia on BMW motorcycles in support of basic medical care.
Global trek and the feeling of freedom.
In the first episode of the planned 25-part film series "Global trek – the art of the inner journey", film maker Lei Jona shows the extraordinary essence behind countless long-term journeys. In the series, 23 protagonists talk about the incredible feeling of freedom and the courage required to overcome your own limits.
The Hover Ride Design Concept.
It all started with a LEGO Technic repair kit for the BMW R 1200 GS which had 603 parts: creative minds used this repair kit to "create" the unique Hover Ride Design Concept and a futuristic motorcycle prototype. The speech in the US lodge is devoted to the cooperation between BMW Motorrad and LEGO.
Four parties on four stages.
The Bogus Brothers from the UK are well-known for their lively stage shows, extravagant costumes and packed concert halls. On the Pure&Crafted stage at the motodrom the Rob Ryan Roadshow will be warming up the crowd and Jimmy Roggers is playing at the camp fire.
In the marquee, the party is in full swing with Gerry & Gary. Push it up is putting their foot down in the US Lodge. On the Pure&Crafted stage, The Dead Lovers provide the finest of retro sounds. Jimmy Roggers once again ensures the right camp fire atmosphere.
On Sunday, enjoy the beer garden feeling. The Metropolitan Jazz Band provides the right soundtrack.
