GS Trophy 2020 Qualifier USA.
The GS Trophy 2020 – Qualifier USA will be held May 31 through June 2 with RawHyde Adventures at RawHyde, near Castaic, CA.

BMW Motorrad has hosted the biennial International GS Trophy for adventure-thirsty riders since 2008. The event has taken participants to Tunisia, South Africa, Patagonia, Canada, Thailand – and, most recently, Mongolia for a week of hard-core adventure riding, special tests and teamwork challenges. Five teams crossed the starting line in the first GS Trophy. Last year’s event saw 19 teams from 25 nations taking part. In 2016, the first-ever women's team joined in, and women riders have been competing ever since.

Conditions of entry for the 2020 GS Trophy Qualifier USA Event.
1.) The 2020 GS Trophy Qualifier USA event does not include timed races.
2.) Any timing challenges will be strictly related to rally style contests that do not promote a fastest speed event.
3.) Any road licensed BMW Motorrad GS or HP2 Enduro model can be used by participants entering the competition.
4.) Participants must be the registered owner of the motorcycle they compete on.
5.) The entry fee is set by the host of the Qualifier event, for 2019, the entry fee is $349 and $150 for each guest that accompanies.

6.) The final round of competition will only include the highest scoring entrants from the qualifying challenges.
7.) Generating content on social media may be included as part of the event scoring.
8.) The international event will be hosted in 2020. The USA Team will be identified on or before, September 15, 2019.
9.) Participants are offered a variety of different challenges at range levels of difficulty.
10.) Participants can decline to take part in any test, instead receiving the maximum penalty score for this test.
11.) In order to take part in the competition, participants must be prepared to subject themselves and their motorcycles to challenges which go beyond everyday motorcycling. This includes dirt, gravel, mud and mixed conditions.
12.) Any medication which may be required is to be brought by participants according to personal needs. The organizer does not accept any responsibility for health risks to participants arising from participation in the event. It is up to participants to have their own state of health checked prior to taking part.
13.) It is recommended that participants bring a small backpack to carry items required for riding in remote settings. Participants should plan on carrying water, snacks, basic tools and flat tire kits. Hot lunches will be provided for all registered competitors and spectators.
14.) Participants are responsible for their own fuel supply; event organizers will be able to direct you to the nearest gas station. Please note there is a gas station less than a mile away from the event location.
15.) At the end of the event, there will be an award ceremony which will include overall points winners as well as a number of other awards.
16.) Participants take part in the event at their own risk.
17.) Participants must wear complete riding apparel (e.g. DOT approved helmet, jacket, gloves, riding pants, boots, eye protection).
18.) Participation is only permitted with a licensed motorcycle in sound technical condition. The organizer reserves the right to exclude any vehicle which is in a questionable technical state.
19.) Participants must be at least 18 years old.
20.) Participation is only possible if a participant is in possession of all protective equipment and holds a valid class M endorsement and license.
21.) Only US residents can qualify for a position on Team USA to participate in the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2020.
22.) All participants must have a valid passport and be available to travel internationally for the global competition in 2020.
23.) Employees and contractors of the BMW Group, employees and contractors of companies contracted by the BMW Group and employees and contractors of the host company managing the qualifier are not eligible to qualify for Team USA.
24.) BMW Motorrad dealership employees are eligible to qualify for Team USA.
25.) Holders of professional racing licenses are not permitted to take part in the competition. Discovery of professional racing history will be grounds for automatic disqualification.
26.) Former members of any international GS Trophy team are not eligible to be chosen for 2020.
27.) These rules supersede all others regarding the GS Trophy including prior year events.
28.) Participants consent to any photographs, films and interviews made in connection to their involvement with the event being distributed and published on the radio, television, internet, print media, books and by means of photomechanical reproduction without claim to remuneration, including publication for advertising purposes.
29.) Public laws are to be adhered to at all times.
30.) In the event that the program is forced to be canceled or terminated for safety reasons, the organizer is not liable to participant for damages in any way; the participant fee will not be refunded in this case.
31.) There are no refunds in full or in part for not attending the qualifier event.
32.) In any of these provisions become invalid, the remaining provisions remain unaffected.
33.) By submitting the registration form, participants agree to abide by the conditions of entry. The event is subject to USA law only.
34.) RawHyde staff, including staff from one year prior to the Qualifier date, are ineligible to win.
35.) BMW Performance Center staff, including staff from one year prior to the Qualifier date, are ineligible to win.
36.) Motorrad staff, ambassadors, experts, and prior International GS Trophy (prior Qualifier winners) participants are ineligible to win.
37.) Proprietors of BMW Motorrad dealerships are ineligible to win.
38.) Participants must own a BMW GS motorcycle, registered in their name, in the US, and participate in the GS Trophy Qualifier on said bike.
