Unstoppable then. Unstoppable now.

The legend continues with the new R 1200 GS

When the first GS — the trailblazing R 80 GS — hit the dirt in 1980, much more than a bike was born. An entire category of motorcycling came into being — the adventure category. Sure, daring riders took other motorcycles into remote deserts and onto forgotten trails long before the R 80 GS, but never had there been a machine specifically devoted to doing so with such a rugged, do-anything, go-anywhere spirit. In the hands of famed riders like Gaston Rahier and Hubert Ariol, the R 80 GS established a legacy with victories in the Paris-Dakar and other rallies, firmly cementing the GS's place in motorcycling history.

Nearly thirty years later, after other dirt-devouring, globe-conquering GS models like the R 100 GS, R 1100 GS, F 650 GS, R 1150 GS, and R 1150 GS Adventure, the roost-throwing domination continues in the form of the new R 1200 GS. Juiced up with more power, dialed in with new features like Enduro Suspension Adjustment, and decked out in all-new colors, the new R 1200 GS is raring to go anywhere on earth, on roads paved or unpaved.
